Stats

Temperament: Confident, Intelligent, Brave, Cocky, Headstrong, Fast; he knows he’s good-looking, and has no problem with showing off wherever he can. Heads turn and hearts melt! Swag is a bit more independent towards people than the other dogs at the kennel, but around other dogs (especially females) he’s a real socialite! This guy is a full-blown chick magnet! Swag’s more on the dominant side, but respects the boundaries that separate him to Trevor. He’s more like the leader’s right hand man. When in the ring, there is not a single dog that loves to show off more! Swag loves attention and will do almost anything to get it, even if it means he needs to get into trouble. He will tolerate children as well as infants and adults alike. He is very intelligent and therefor is easily trained. This dog gets the job done quickly and efficiently, whether it be in Sledding or any other sport. Swag is well-attuned to his handler, and when at an event, is a star performer! He is the faster dog between Trevor and himself, and therefore, is put in the front with Trevor as a lead dog, to add speed to the thrill of the race!

Structure

Head: Expression is keen, yet friendly; Eyes are almond-shaped, moderately-spaced and set a trifle obliquely. Pure blue in color. Ears are of medium size, triangular shaped and set high on the head and close-fitting. Strongly erect, well-furred, thick, with slightly rounded tips pointing straight up. Skull is of medium size and is proportionate to the body. They are slightly rounded on top and tapering from the widest point to the eyes. Medium length muzzle; the distance from the tip of the nose to the stop is equal to the distance from the stop to the occiput. Medium width, tapering gradually to the nose, tip neither squared nor pointed. Nose black in color. Lips are close-fitting and well pigmented. This male's teeth close in an accurate scissor bite.

Neck, Topline, Body: Neck is medium in length, arched and carried proudly erect when he stands. When in a trotting gait, his neck is extended so that the head is carried forward slightly. Chest is deep and strong, although not too broad; deepest point being just behind and level with his elbows. Well-sprung ribs from the spine, but flattened on the sides. This allows freedom of action. Back is straight and strong, with a level topline from his withers to croup; it is medium in length, but does not slack from excessive length. This male's loin is taut and lean, narrower than the rib cage with a slight tuck-up. Croup slopes away from spine in an angle, although not so steeply that is restricts a backward thrust movement from the hind legs.

Tail: A well-furred fox brush tail, set just below the topline. When carried above the back, it is not carried to the side nor is hugged against the back. Hair on tail is of medium length, and is approximately the same length throughout the whole tail, giving it its brush-like appearance.

Forequarters: Well-laid back shoulder blade. Upper arm angles slightly backward from point of shoulder to elbow, and is not perpendicular to the ground. The muscles and ligaments holding the shoulder to the rib cage are well-developed and firm. When viewed from the front, forelegs are moderately spaced, straight and parallel, with elbows close to his body, turning slightly inward. This, however, is not considered a fault by the breed's AKC standard. When viewed from the side, his pasterns are slightly slanted, with a strong pastern joint, but still flexible all at once. Bone is substantial, but not heavy. The length of the elbow to ground is slightly greater than the distance from the elbow to the top of his withers. His front dewclaws have not been removed. Feet are oval in shape, but not too long. His paws are medium in size, well-furred between the toes and pads and compact. Paw pads are tough and thickly cushioned. Paws neither turn in nor do they turn out when he is in a normal stance.

Hindquarters: When viewed from the rear, hind legs are moderately spaced and parallel to one another. His upper thighs are very well-muscled and powerful, with stifles well bent, the hock joint well-defined and set appropriately low to the ground. This individual is without any hind dew claws.

Coat: Double-coated, medium in length. This gives the dog a well-furred appearance, though not to obscure the clean-cut figure of this individual. Guard hairs of outer coat is somewhat smooth lying, though not harsh or standing straight off the body.

Gait: This dog's gait is smooth and seemingly effortless. He is quick and light on his feet, and exhibits good reach of the forequarters and good drive in his hindquarters. When viewed from the front to rear while moving at a walk, this individual does not single-track. However, as his speed of stride increases, his legs gradually angle inward until the paws are falling on the line directly under the longitudinal center of his body. As his paw marks converge, the forelegs and hind legs are carried straight forward, with neither stifles nor elbows turned in or out. When in a trotting gait, the topline remains firm and level.
